Marketing your website (7th March 2010)

Reciprocal Links
If you know of any businesses that compliment your business and would like to provide useful relevent information for your visitors, then contact these companies and do a link exchange.

One-way Links
These send a powerful message to the search engines as these links are coming into you from outside and not being reciprocated. This demonstrates to the likes of Google your site is valuable. One-way links are great because they will improve link popularity. Search engines place a huge importance on link popularity when ranking your site. You can get one way links, from the like of Yell.com, The 'bestof' local internet directories. Only have one-way links from relevent websites. Another good one could be suppliers you deal with. I know some wholesalers list their dealers and provide links to their dealers sites.

Mail Shots
Continue to do mailshots to promote your brand. Include your website address. Give your recipients a reason to visit your website. Get them clicking. Do you have special offers you would like to promote?

Email Shots
Only send email shots to those who have subscribed as you don't want to be seen as a spammer. This is a very cost and time efficient way to contact your database with news or product promotions etc with links that point them to your website.

Word of mouth
Tell people about your website. Ask them to review it. Do they find it easy to navigate? Get feedback.

Promote, Promote, Promote!
